#goodforyou
It’s not just young people who can get in on the action. The group is run by a team of volunteers undertaking a variety of exciting roles, some directly with the young people and some in running the group through the committee.
Join in
We are recruiting for more adults to join the adventure and help with the group. Whether you can give a couple of hours a week or an hour a month, want to work directly with one of the age ranges or behind the scenes with the committee, we can find a role for you. Full training and support will be provided, and we can shape the role to fit your time, knowledge, and skills,

Beaver team member
Gingerbread baker? Den-maker? Whatever your skills, we want you to join the adventure and help our eager six to eight year old Beavers gain skills for life. One session you might be exploring the great outdoors. And the next? Learning new things right on your doorstep.
You’ll create lifelong memories for our Beavers. And when they’re ready, you’ll send them off to become courageous Cubs
Cub team member
Do you hear that? Those distant howls of laughter and yells of excitement? No, it’s not the sound of animals. It’s coming from your local Scouts meeting place. Want to join the fun? Become a Cubs Team Member and help run our curious Cub Packs.
We promise you’ll feel energised, excited, and enthusiastic (OK, and maybe slightly worn out at times), but one thing’s for sure, you’ll be back for more.
You might be giving skills for life to future technicians, musicians, or even politicians. Whoever they are, our Cubs need people like you to guide them. Whether you’re baking up a storm, or deep diving into the world of synchronised swimming, everyone can explore their hobbies at Cubs (and even discover some new ones).
So join us, and work with your fellow volunteers to give our Cubs the courage they need to try something new.
Scouts team member
Discovering the world. Thinking big. Survival skills. We could go on and on! Anything to do with the outdoors, camping or nature, we’ll bet you Scouts do it. All that’s missing now? You. Our Scouts Team Members are the movers and shakers in our Scout groups. By this we mean they have big barrels of energy, bold activity plans and bright ideas.
You’ll learn how to pitch a tent, light a campfire and build dens. Or, maybe you’ll try out juggling, sketching or parascending. It’s not just our young people that gain skills for life, but our Team Members, too.
Scouts is open to everyone and that includes our amazing volunteers. We know you have something to bring to the team, whether that’s your excellent cooking skills or even just a big smile. Go on, give it a go.
Trustees
With their vital behind the scenes role, our Trustees are dedicated to making sure Scouts runs smoothly, safely, and legally.
We’re looking for safe pairs of hands, ‘i’ dotters and ‘t’ crossers. Sound like you? As a Trustee, you’ll be part of a dynamic team working together to make Scouts operate like a well-oiled machine. From managing money to checking meeting places are in tip-top condition, you’ll make sure everything is set up properly, so that young people have the best experience in Scouts. Trustees see the big picture, make decisions and work together. As a team, you’ll ensure that everything’s being done safely and legally, as well as connecting Scouts with your local community. Oh, and it’s fine if you’ve not been a Trustee before. We’ll support you, making sure you learn everything you need to know, as you go.
